Here is how to make the tires on your used vehicle last as long as possible:<\/p>\n

Check the Air Pressure Regularly<\/h3>\n

Many vehicles that have been produced in the last decade will have a built-in tire pressure monitoring system, but we still recommend pulling out your tire gauge and checking the air pressure regularly. A good rule of thumb is to do it whenever you check your oil<\/a>, which should be about once a month.<\/p>\n

Rotate and Balance Your Tires<\/h3>\n

Did you know that your tires wear down at different rates? It\u2019s true! Typically, your front right tire will experience the most wear, so in order for all of your tires to wear down evenly, they will need to be rotated, or switched to a different wheel. This should be done every 3000-5000 miles. To further help your tires wear down evenly, they will need to be the same weight. So get your tires weighed and balanced (where weighted clips are added to balance out the tires\u2019 weight) every 5000-7500 miles\/every 2 years.<\/p>\n

Depending on how much you drive and what kind of road conditions you regularly encounter, a set of tires will typically last 3-4 years. If you know that your tires are reaching that age, we recommend that you start checking the depth of the treads. Simply take a penny and stick Mr. Lincoln\u2019s head down into the treads. If his head is completely visible, it is time for a new set of tires.<\/p>\n
